Ubuntu For Android Phone Requirements

Mark Shuttleworth the founder of Canonical Ubuntu announced an Android software that will dock the whole desktop version of Ubuntu inside any dual core high end Android smart phones. All you need to connect the device to a monitor, keyboard and mouse. The full featured Ubuntu desktop edition will appear on the monitor. The basic principle of the software is both Ubuntu and Android work with linux Kernel.

Ubuntu can access the files, contacts and all data from the phone memory and you can play movies, pictures, and all files with Ubuntu. Can also browse the internet with Firefox and Chrome.


Ubuntu for Android hardware Requirements
  • Android 2.3 gingerbread or higher versions
  • Minimum 1GHz or higher multi core processor
  • Minimum 512MB of memory(RAM)
  • Video acceleration: Shared kernel driver with associated X driver OpenGL,ES/EGL
  • Atleast 2GB of free internal memory for Ubuntu OS image
  • HDMI port for connecting to Monitor
  • USB port for connecting Keyboards and mouse
